Does it matter if I’m in a different time zone?

No, Indiana ( & Team ) are accustomed to working with clients in different time zones and can adapt their working hours to accommodate their clients’ needs.

At Nomadium, we're digital nomads by nature which means we may occassionally be in different time zones anyway but you'll always be able to reach us within UK office hours.

We're comfortable with a  range of digital communication, project management and collaboration tools with our clients to keep things running smoothly regardless of time zone differences.

Why is the hourly rate seemingly higher than an employee?

Accepted Answer

You’re actually saving a lot of money by working with a VA instead of an employee.

Here’s a few things you don’t need to pay for when you choose a Nomadium VA ; insurance, sick pay, holiday pay, hardware & equipment, training, desk space , holidays, pension schemes, HR & added admin costs and so much more.

So not only are you saving money but a lot of stress and hassle too.

As of 2025 the average rate for an experienced UK based VA is between £32-£37 per hour.

What if I don't know how many hours I need?

Don’t worry! 
We recommend you start on our lowest monthly retainer if you’ve not worked with a VA before. At Nomadium we have plenty of experience and all work super efficiently so will probably take less hours than you think to get your work done.

Our minimum is 10hrs per month (Approx 2.5hrs per week).

Question 4

Will you let me know when I’ve used all my hours?

Accepted Answer

Yes! All VA client work is tracked via a tool called Toggl and we will give you regular updates to let you know when you’re coming close to your monthly limit.

Can a you come to my office?

Accepted Answer

Short answer - No.

Partly because it would be costly for you if we did as you would be billed travel and all time spent out of the office!
Founder, Indiana, has worked fully remote for years now - even before COVID. When not hopping around the globe we’re UK based usually in our Home Offices. We have never NEEDED to meet a client face-to-face though we do choose to from time-to-time! 
Thanks to email, zoom, and other cool tools we’re able to complete all projects to an excellent standard from anywhere in the world.

How do I communicate with you day-to-day?

I'm open to ways that work for you. Most clients usually message via WhatsApp, add us into their Slack channels or send requests via Email. Sometimes clients will schedule a regular monthly/weekly call.

When & how do I pay for my package?

Accepted Answer

Full monthly retainer payment is required upfront for all packages, any adhoc hours will be added onto the next months retainer. All clients are invoiced via Quickbooks on the last Friday of each month. Payment is due within 7 days of receipt of invoice & Payment details are included on the invoice.

I know I need an OBM - What should I look for ?

Again this depends a little on your business needs but typically you should look for someone with a strong background in business management, project management, and online business. In terms of soft skills OBM’s typically possess excellent communication, organisation, and leadership skills to effectively fulfil the role.

Having an OBM certification from the International Association of Online Business Managers (IAOBM) and being a member of the association (Like Indiana, who'll you'll work with if you choose Nomadium) ensures the OBM has ALL the relevant skills and support network to help scale & manage your business. So you know, with confidence, you can count on Indiana as your OBM under Nomadium.

What’s the typical cost of an OBM across the industry?

As with any professional industry, The cost of hiring and working with an OBM can vary. It will depend on factors such as the scope of work, experience, expertise, and the location of the OBM. You can expect rates to range from hourly to monthly retainer fees, typically starting at £65 per hour for a good, basic OBM and upwards for higher quality/levels of experience.

So if you’re leaving your business in someone else’s hands, we recommend considering quality and experience over simply a cheaper price point!
